The Art of Breakfast

To help us celebrate the most important meal of the day in style, we’ve worked with world renowned food artist Prudence Staite to create an incredible, edible piece of artwork out of some of our favourite breakfast foods.

Research we’ve conducted has shown that as a nation, we think we do the best breakfasts in the world and when we go abroad, we tend to seek out a ‘British’ style breakfast because it’s one of the things we miss most.

It only seemed fitting given our national pride in breakfast, that Prudence used breakfast ingredients to recreate another national treasure, the famous British countryside, complete with a farmer, pig, chickens and cows!

The landscape, which measures 2 metres by 1.5 metres, took three days to design and nearly 12 hours to create, for which Prudence had help from three assistants.

It showcased the wide variety of breakfast foods produced and enjoyed in our country, including 11 different breakfast cereals, 21 slices of bread, 14 crumpets, 2 jars of marmalade and 12 rashers of bacon!

Here is a behind the scenes look at the creation process…
