New games and resources available!

We've been busy adding some new content to our website to make sure the breakfast message keeps going all year round - not just in Farmhouse Breakfast Week! We have a new section called Fun for Kids where we have some interactive games and a wordsearch to help children understand about arable farming and how their breakfast foods are produced. The games are all curriculum linked so they are suitable for use either in school or at home.

We've also added some information about breakfast clubs. Increasing numbers of children are arriving at school without having eaten any breakfast. There has been a lot of coverage in the media in recent months about teachers taking food in to feed children who are too hungry to learn. We have provided some statistics which show the positive differences a school breakfast club can make. We've also given you some links for further information should you wish to set up a breakfast club at your school.

We have lots of free resources which can help make your breakfast club a fun, sociable and educational place. Order our breakfast posters which help teach children about the different food groups they should incorporate at breakfast and the benefits that eating breakfast provides. Our education website Grain Chain also has resources including grain art activity, posters and lesson plans.
