Making a bang at breakfast time

Think you’ve seen more talk about bangers this week than normal? You’re probably right – and it’s not just because of Bonfire night! All this week, our friends at Love Pork have been celebrating British Sausage Week.


The theme for this year was Sausages of Distinction, with one butcher claiming to have created the most expensive sausage in the world: £37 each for a sausage containing Mangalitsa pork, truffles, Stilton cheese, powdered cep mushrooms and vintage 1947 port. Who wouldn’t want to try this ‘ Posh Banger’? We’d certainly love to give it a try.

Another record broken this week was the most sausages produced in one minute – a whopping 44 sausages. That takes some doing – even for the most experienced of sausage makers - so congratulations to Liam O’Hagan from all of us.
