Just days to go

Farmhouse Breakfast Week starts on Sunday and we think this year could be the busiest and best one yet. Our seven day celebration of breakfast begins on Sunday 26th January and here’s a little taster of what we have planned for the week:

Best Breakfast Awards tour

We’ve had thousands of votes in for the best breakfast dish in the country and the final counting and verification is now taking place. Winners will be announced on Monday and during Farmhouse Breakfast Week we’re going to be visiting some of the winners so that we can taste the award-winning breakfasts for ourselves. Dean Edwards will be joining us to try the overall winning dish and see how it compares with his Breakfast Bruschetta. We’ll share details and pictures from our tour here on the site and also on our Twitter and Facebook pages so watch this space.

Best Home Breakfast

There’s one last award up for grabs in our Best Breakfast Awards – and this time it’s your home breakfasts we want to see. Throughout Farmhouse Breakfast Week we want you to share pictures of your breakfasts on Twitter and Instagram and our favourites will appear on our gallery. You can also share a picture of your breakfast on our Shake Up Your Wake Up Facebook page.

Make sure to tag your image with #BreakfastWeek. Everyone that shares their breakfast image between Sunday 26th January and Saturday 1st February will also be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a UK seaside break. Your breakfast can be your normal morning dish or use the occasion to try something different – it’s up to you. So whether you’re a porridge person, a cereal champion or a granola groupie get snapping and sharing your Best Home Breakfasts and join in the celebrations. (Ts and Cs here).

Breakfast Celebrations

Up and down the country hundreds of events will be taking place during Farmhouse Breakfast Week. From special menus, promotions and tastings in cafes and restaurants, to educational visits and charity fundraisers, breakfast will be the word on everyone’s lips over the next week. Check out our events page to see what’s happening near you.

Breakfast in the media

We’ve already had some wonderful coverage about breakfast, Farmhouse Breakfast Week and our Best Breakfast Awards in a range of media from The Sun and the Guardian Online to Hello!, Closer and Magic FM. We’ve also had coverage in print and broadcast up and down the country and expect this to continue throughout the week and beyond.

We’ll be in the radio studio on Tuesday with dietitian Azmina Govindji as she discusses the reasons we should be eating breakfast every day so listen out to her on a station near you. We’ve also got a couple of surprises up our sleeve that we can’t wait to share with you!

Finally we’d just like to say a big thank you to the many people and organisations that make Farmhouse Breakfast Week possible - we couldn’t do it without you. We hope you all enjoy Farmhouse Breakfast Week as much as we know we’re going to.
