Best Breakfast Awards launch

We’ve been busy over the last few months putting together the finishing touches to our plans for Farmhouse Breakfast Week 2014 and are delighted to share some exciting new developments with you.


As part of the breakfast celebrations we are on the hunt for the venues that serve the best breakfast dishes, so today we are launching our very first ‘Best Breakfast Awards’.

Whether you’re a restaurant, café, food van, farm shop, pub, hotel, B&B or a work canteen, if you believe your breakfasts make the grade then we want to know! We’re excited to be joined on our search by chef and breakfast fan Dean Edwards who will be visiting the winner during Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

We’ll be opening it up to a public vote from December so your customers can show their support, but the only way to ensure your venue is in the running is to nominate your breakfast dish.

There are three entry categories and nominations are open now:

  • Best Hot Breakfast – this includes cooked breakfasts, porridge, bacon rolls etc. – if it’s warm its eligible!
  • Best Cold Breakfast – including cereal, continental breakfast etc.
  • Most Innovative Breakfast - this is your chance to showcase those special breakfast dishes you serve that have that little something extra. This could be unusual ingredients or flavour combinations, how it is served, or where the ingredients are sourced.

The Best Breakfast Awards are just one way of getting involved with Farmhouse Breakfast Week. Each year hundreds of organisations including schools, restaurants, retailers and manufactures join in the breakfast celebrations. Find out how you can get involved.

Farmhouse Breakfast Week takes place from the 26th January to the 1st February 2014. We’ll be keeping you up to date between now and then so stay tuned for the latest breakfast news, hints, recipes and tips and lets all work together to make this the biggest one yet.
