Farmhouse Breakfast Week 2012 - 22nd to 28th January

Farmhouse Breakfast Week is an annual campaign run by HGCA which has been running since the year 2000. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast and demonstrate the variety of breakfast foods available in the UK.

Farmhouse Breakfast Week 2012 took place between 22 - 28 January and was a great success with hundreds of events taking place to celebrate breakfast - the most important meal of the day!

All stages of the food chain, from farmers to food producers and retailers to consumers were encouraged to hold events to promote the importance of starting the day with breakfast and to celebrate the wealth of wonderful breakfast produce available around the country.

Farmhouse Breakfast Week will return in 2013 between 20 - 26 January and it's never too early to start planning!  Visit our 'Get Involved' section and find out how you can take part.

Why eat breakfast…

  • Eating breakfast can aid concentration and mental performance at work and at school.
  • It provides you with the nutrients and energy needed for an active lifestyle.
  • Research shows that breakfast eaters are less depressed and have lower levels of stress than breakfast skippers.
